We organise workshops in Europe, in countries such as: Netherland, Germany, Switzerland and Sweden to give the opportunity for you as consumers, chocolate retailers, chocolatiers, students, etc. to meet face to face with cocoa farmers. The goal is to bring cocoa farmers and consumers closer so you as a consumers can understand farmer challenges and experiences first-hand. Approach is as a result of Farmgate Cocoa Alliance mission, aim at promoting the recognition of cocoa farming as a business, and farmers right as independent cocoa entrepreneur.
During the workshop farmers will explain to the audience about their daily lives as cocoa entrepreneur incuding issues such as: living income, child labour, gender inequality, climate change, deforestation, transparency and sustainability. As a participant, you will also have the opportunity to ask personal questions directly to farmers. Workshops is also design to help change the way the sector is currently operating, because it will create the atmosphere for end consumer and others to know the hidden truth of cocoa farmers challenges directly from the farmers themselves.
