The Executive Board is the highest decision making body of the Farmgate Cocoa Alliance (FCA). The Board comprise of four (4) Board Members, which includes a Chairperson, the Executive Director, a Treasurer, and a Secretary. Executive Board Members are invited to join the Board of the Alliance for a period of four (4) years, which can be extended.
The Executive Board meets once and not more than twice yearly, Board Members can also choose to summon an emergency or extraordinary Board Meeting when deem necessary. Duties of the Board is to approve annual budget, review and supervise activities of the Alliance.
The Farmgate Cocoa Alliance (FCA) Board of Directors Members are individuals from member organizations of the Alliance. Members are not automatically become a member of the Board of Directors. It is the responsibility of the Executive Director to invite a member to join the Board.
As a Board of Directors Member, you will have the opportunity to share your experience and expertise in projects to be implemented, developed by the Executive Secretariat. Members can also propose a project or activities to the Executive Secretariat. The Board of Directors meets twice a year. A Board of Directors Member can be invited to join other committees of the Alliance, to address specific issue.
Advisory Board Members are persons from organizations and research institutions (also non-members of the Alliance). Advisory Board Members are invited by the CEO, to help advice the Alliance, so it can successfully comprehend its goals. Advisory Board Members can only take part at the Executive Board or the Board of Directors meetings through invitation.
The CEO is in charge of the Executive Secretariat. The role of the Executive Secretariat is to develop, implement and manage projects and develop partnerships.
After the Executive Board has approved projects or activities, the Secretariat will go on with the implementation of the project and/or activities.
